Procedures for Gearbox Build and Quality Verification at PinyiGear
From parts cleaning and assembly procedures to clearance adjustment and running-in tests, this guide provides a comprehensive overview of key assembly
Prerequisites Before Joining Components
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Each gear, bearing and shaft is routed through an ultrasonic cleaning stage before it reaches the assembly station. Once cleaning is complete, the tooth flanks are examined individually for burrs and surface dents.
Dimensional and Accuracy Re-Checks
- Pitch, tooth profile and helix accuracy of gears are re-verified
- Bearing internal clearance is measured
PinyiGear performs every assembly operation in accordance with released, controlled assembly process documentation.
Assembly Sequence
- Bearing installation: Bearings are heated to 80~120°C and hot-fitted onto the shaft.
- Gear installation: Gears are heated to 120~150°C and hot-fitted into their positions.
- Housing closure: Sealant is applied, after which bolts are tightened to the specified torque.
- Backlash adjustment: Gear backlash is set to 0.06~0.15mm.
- Rotation check: Manual turning must feel smooth, without sticking.
Running-In Test Schedule
| Inspection Items | Stage | Speed | Load | Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Noise, vibration, temperature rise | No-load running-in | 50% rated | None | 30min |
| Contact pattern, temperature rise | Load running-in | 75% rated | 50% | 60min |
| Noise, efficiency | Full-load test | Rated | 100% | 120min |
